The TAE40116 Upgrade program is designed for those who have equivalent units of competence from previous qualifications and relevant recent experience.

TAE40116 has been released in 2016, and replaces the TAE40110 of 2010.

Students can still enrol in the TAE40116 Certificate in Training and Assessment, which has been superseded. This certificate is currently in a transition period that extends until 8 December 2024. This extended transition period gives students plenty of time for completion of the TAE40116.

As per our regulator ASQA, the current minimum standards of compliance for a Trainer or Assessor are as follows:

Trainers and assessors must have the following qualifications to be eligible for this course

• The TAE40110 
• TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A
• TAEASS502, TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B

How is the course delivered to you?

This course is delivered via the internet, giving you flexibility with your study hours. You can also complete the course at a pace that suits you. It's perfect for balancing work and family obligations! You will receive your login credentials to access our learning platform upon enrolment. Here you will find your instructions, learning materials and assessments.

We know the TAE isn't easy and you will need guidance at some point. You will have unlimited access and can schedule video or phone calls with your trainer whenever you need help. Our trainers are available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5pm QLD time.

Our service commitment to you:

• We will mark any assessments you submit within four working days. This is our standard service guarantee to you.
• We respond to all emails within 8 hours.
• If we miss you call, we will call you within 4 hours.

How long does it usually take?

The duration of this course is up to two  months.

The following three factors can affect the time a student takes to complete a course:

1. Experience - If you have training/assessing experience, you won't need as much time as someone without experience.
2. Dedication - If you have a reason to take the course and you can hold yourself accountable then you won't need as much time as people who are not as committed.
3. Other commitments: If you have a busy schedule with many competing demands in your professional and personal life, you will need more time than someone with fewer demands.

We find that successful students tend to devote 10-15 hours per week. Some of our students spend less time than others. You decide.

Studying Habits for Success

We have a video about Effective Study Habits to help you progress through the course. Based on our experience working with thousands of students, here is what we have found to be true:

• Speak to us! Don't procrastinate or stew if you're stuck at home with a problem or feeling overwhelmed. Contact us via phone, chat, Google Meet, email or Zoom. We'll help you find a solution to your problem so you can continue with your studies.
• Schedule it! Schedule it in! You can choose your own pace and structure your learning to fit your lifestyle.
• Last but not least, take it one step at a... time. Consistency is key, but if something unexpected happens, you can find solutions like deferring your course.

What if I have to take a study break?

Our online approach is flexible, so if you want to take a study break, we can accommodate that.

We offer you the option to defer or pause your studies. While you are deferred your enrolment will be inactive and we will pause the duration of your enrolment. When you are reactivated after deferment, your enrolment is inactive and we pause the duration of your enrolment.

Here are some important details.

• You can only defer your payment a maximum of twice. The first deferment of payment is free. The second deferment is charged at $45
• Payment plans continue even if you defer. Your payments must be current before we can defer.
• While you are deferred, you will not have access to the trainer or learning platform.
• You can defer your enrollment for up to three months if you still have at least six weeks left. You can then defer your enrolment for up to 3 months if you still have at least 6 weeks left.

It is important to contact us as soon as possible if you find that your enrolment hasn't worked out as planned. This will allow us to offer you the best options for support as and when you require them.
