From the outset, making sure that you are asserting your role as a team leader in a manner that is understood by all members of your team. Show your strength without instilling fear but rather build relationships that will earn your team's trust and loyalty. Furthermore, foster trust and collaboration between team members as the way your team interacts with each other is as significant as how they relate to you. Promote respect, communication and an open atmosphere. Ensure that your staff members are working together towards the objectives set by the department and the organisation
instead of competing with each other. Always present yourself as a unifying force and deal with minor conflicts immediately to avoid them from escalating into more serious issues.
