Welcome to the Fire Warden Training course delivered online.

Fire Safety is important for planning emergencies in facilities. This course has been designed to provide you with an understanding of your role as a warden in the workplace, as well as emergency preparation, prevention and readiness.

What is covered in this course?

After completing this course, you will have an understanding of:

  1. What emergencies are and how people behave during emergencies
  2. Emergency preparation and prevention, including the need to identify and control hazards
  3. The roles within and responsibilities of the emergency control organisation (ECO)
  4. Fire protection systems
  5. How to respond in the event of an active shooter emergency
  6. How to respond safely to an emergency and assist other occupants, and
  7. Warden roles before, during and after an emergency.

How long does it take to complete?

This varies from user to user. A rough guideline is approximately 2 hours. The course can be started and stopped. This makes it ideal to complete in spare time.

What do I get on completion?

A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of the course and you are required to get an 80% pass mark to be deemed as understanding the content. It is recommended that training is conducted every 2 years to stay refreshed. This of course varies from workplace to workplace depending upon your internal policies and procedures.

Face to face versus online fire safety?

Face to face training requires your staff to all down tools at the same time. Using our online course system, through our learning management system, means that staff can learn about fire fighting basics to safely evacuate in the chance of an emergency. The training can also be used as a fantastic way to back up previous face to face Fire Warden training that has been under taken.
