What are electrical risks?

Electrical risks refer to the possibility of part of a person's body coming into contact with an electrical current. The current flows through the person's body tissue and into the ground (earthing).

Some of the injuries that can be caused by exposure to electricity include:

  • shock
  • electrical burns, and
  • electrocution

Electric shock can interfere with the functioning of the heart, can cause the heart to beat irregularly, and cause lasting damage to the heart muscle.

A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of the course and you are required to get an 80% pass mark to be deemed as understanding the content. It is recommended that training is conducted every 2 years to stay refreshed.
