• Reviewing safety requirements from an onsite assessment
• Tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment
• Preparing the asbestos removal area and removal site
• Requirements for isolating the removal site
• Carrying out the asbestos removal process
• Carrying out the decontamination process
• Cleaning up the worksite and equipment

CPCCDE3015A Class A friable asbestos removal course covers the process of removing friable asbestos. Both classes last one day.

The asbestos supervisor course covers the steps needed for implementing an asbestos removal control plan. Participants learn how to supervise testing and oversee the removal and decontamination processes.

Licensed asbestos removalists complete the asbestos assessor course, which typically has a duration of two days. This course covers asbestos management and safety requirements for asbestos removal. Licensed asbestos assessors are qualified to carry out asbestos air monitoring. They can also issue a clearance certificate after the clearance inspection.

Prerequisites for Asbestos Removal Certificate Courses

White card training is a prerequisite for all asbestos removal courses. Construction workers and others in the construction industry need to renew their white card training every two years. 

Before taking the friable asbestos (Class A) removal course, you must complete the non-friable asbestos (Class B) removal course. Both courses are also prerequisites for the CPCCBC4051A Supervise Asbestos Removal course. 

After completing these courses, you may complete CPCCBC5014A Conduct Asbestos Assessment to become a licensed asbestos assessor. Refresher training should also be completed for all asbestos removal courses every two years.
