The West Australian government has announced the appointment of a new WorkSafe WA Commissioner.
In a statement the government said Ian Munns has commenced in the position after previous Commissioner Lex McCulloch retired from public service at the end of 2017.
Munns also holds the title of associate deputy director general, Safety Regulation and moves into the role from his previous role as associate executive director, Building Commission.
Munns has held several positions in the WorkSafe Division of the former Department of Commerce and the current Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, including director of Policy and Education and executive director, Corporate Governance and Services.
Prior to the appointment, Munns’ career has included a diverse range of duties, from undertaking compliance activities to several positions as national manager for functions in the Commonwealth Government.
