Managing & Controlling Asbestos in the Workplace (Asbestos Awareness Training)
Welcome to the Managing and Controlling Asbestos in the Workplace course. This asbestos awareness training course has been designed to provide you with an understanding of the dangers posed by asbestos, where asbestos risks might occur in the workplace and some of the controls used to minimise and eliminate these risks.
After completing this course, you will have an understanding of:
- what asbestos is
- the dangers presented by asbestos
- how to identify asbestos in the workplace
- some of the laws, roles and responsibilities associated with asbestos, and
- safe asbestos removal practices.
This course has been reviewed by a subject matter expert.
It has been designed to comply with best practice national health and safety standards. Terminology has been chosen for clarity and ease of comprehension across jurisdictions. For example, ‘employer’ has been used to signify the broader term ‘PCBU’, while ‘WHS’ represents both work and occupational health and safety.

A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of the course and you are required to get an 80% pass mark to be deemed as understanding the content. It is recommended that training is conducted every 2 years to stay refreshed.
